4th of July Mason Jars Utensil Holder
4th of July is one of my favorite holidays, I love celebrating our country, spending time with family and friends, eating lots of good food and ending the day with fireworks! It’s just a FUN holiday!! When I think about the 4th of July, I immediately think about the flag, I love decorating with the flag, so I turned some mason jars into some fun flag mason jars, perfect for the 4th of July BBQ. You can use the 4th of July mason jars for anything but I thought they would be great as an utensil holder.
This is how I made the flag mason jars.
I started with some smooth mason jars. I like the look of the smooth jars compared to the ones with the logo on them but any mason jar would work. I used some spray paint, in red, white and blue.
For the stripes mason jars, I used some painters tape and put it around the jar.
I then spray painted the inside of the jars. I like the look of the glass on the outside, so I paint the inside of the jar but you can paint the outside too. I painted one of the jars blue and the ones for the stripes, I painted them white.
I then put the lid onto the jar and then painted the outside of the stripes red.
While the red dried, I worked on the blue jar. Using regular indoor white vinyl, I cut out some stars with my Silhouette CAMEO.
I then put the white stars all over the blue jar, in random spots.
Now back to the stripes. I peeled off the painters tape. Because of the curve of the jar, it’s hard to get a perfect seal with the tape, so there is some paint that got under the tape. All I did was took a little metal tool and scraped it off with it. Then using a wipe, I wiped it off. It was super easy to get it off. The left one is how it looks after I scraped it, the right one is before.
I added some white lids to the strips and a blue lid to the stars.
To protect the bottom of the jar and to give the utensils more height, I put a dish rag into the bottom of the jar, that way the spoons and forks don’t go all the way down to the bottom of the jar.
I added some plastic utensils and that’s it!! I love how they turned out, they are so fun and super easy to make!
Add some fun 4th of July plates and napkins and you are all ready for a 4th of July BBQ!
