After School Snacks Idea with Encouragements Signs

School is starting this week for us and it’s time for me to start getting ready for school and the routine of things.  When my kids get home they immediately ask for a snack.  Anyone else’s kids do that?  I swear they don’t eat during lunch because they seem to be starving after school.  So I need to get some after school snacks that are more than just crackers and cheese.  They need something that is easy, yummy and will keep them full until dinner time.

I headed to Walmart to get some snacks for the kids.  I got some Delimex taquitos and Bagel Bites. Both were in the freezer section.

Since the first day of school is coming up this week, I made up some fun signs for their after school snacks on the first day of school.  This is a big week for my kids.  First day of school at a new school in a new state.  And for my 5 year old, this week is he starts kindergarten.  I know that all of my kids are a little nervous about this week, so these encouragement signs will be a great way to celebrate their little victories of going to school.

I made some free printables (you can get them here), cut them out and put them onto toothpicks and put them onto the bagel bites and taquitos.  Fun huh?  I think my kids are going to enjoy them this week.

The taquitos and bagel bites are perfect #AfterSchoolSnacks because my kids can make themselves.  I just had my 9 year old read the directions himself.

Then he put them into the microwave and cooked them.  So nice since I’m usually trying to figure out dinner when they kids get home from school and things always seem to be crazy after school.  It’s just nice to have one less thing to worry about.

My kids enjoy them, especially since they are made with real cheese and homemade sauce with 0g trans fat. It’s so nice that my kids are getting older and more independent :).

The taquitos are great for my kids too.  Super easy to make too.

These are going to be perfect for after school snacks but they will be great for lunch for this guy.  He’s afternoon kindergarten starts at 12:30, so I’ll have to make him a quick lunch.  These only takes a minute to make, perfect.

Both of these snacks foods have coupons (yay for saving money!).  Here is the one for Bagel Bites and here is the one for Delimex.
Are you kids starving when they get home from school?  What kinds of snacks do you make for your kids?
