Christmas Sign with Glitter Vinyl

November 26, 2017 by Kaysi Leave a Comment

Oh how I love the Target dollar spot, I went into it the other day and had a ball!  I go into Target and try to walk past the dollar spot, but it just sucks me in!  I went in right when they had just put out their new Christmas stuff and oh my word, it was AWESOME!  I got several things from there (because when it’s $1, I can’t myself!).  But the thing that I was most excited about was this wooden ornament Christmas sign, the colors and the glitter on the edges, yes please!  It was only $5, so I got it real quick and thought that it would look great with some glitter vinyl on it.  Well I was right, I love how it turned out and it only took about 5 minutes to make, woot woot!

Here is a quick video to show you the process of how to make this super easy sign!

This is how I made it.

I used the FX glitter vinyl from Expressions Vinyl, this one is the silver color.  This stuff is AWESOME!  It is soooo pretty and who doesn’t love glitter?!  It has a lot of sparkle in it and that’s why I love it so much.  I cut out the design with my Silhouette CAMEO.  You can get the cut file here:

I weeded the vinyl and then using the clear grid transfer paper (this stuff is amazing, I love that you can see through it and it has a grid!), I put that onto the vinyl to transfer it to the ornament.

Here is what it looks like onto the sign, love it!  Using the application tool, I rubbed the vinyl onto the sign really good to make sure that it is on there good.

Carefully I took off the transfer paper and the vinyl is left onto the wood. And that’s it!  I love how easy it is to spruce up a sign with vinyl.

Here it is with all of my Christmas decor.  I love how it looks on a little easel instead of hung up and the wood grain helps bring out the wood in my cute little Christmas farmhouse sign.

And here is the close up of it.  I love how the glitter vinyl just sparkles, you can’t have enough glitter, especially at Christmas time!

One  of my favorite things about this sign (and one of the major reasons why I bought it) was the glitter on the edges, I love it oh so much!
