My little girl loves to dress up and with that comes a lot of cute little accessories. When I made her her dress up station for her birthday, I wanted to make something to hold all of her new necklaces, hair clips and other accessories. So I came up with this fun DIY hanging holder. It was super easy to make and it’s perfect to hold all the little pieces or her accessories.
You will need some fun fabric, clear vinyl and to make the the project easier some of the best fabric scissors you can find.
I cut two pieces of the chevron fabric, 18″ by 22″. And then I cut three different sizes of the vinyl, each 18″ wide. The vinyl pieces were 8″, 6″ and 4″ long.
For the vinyl pockets, I wanted a fun edge on them, so I cut the polka dot fabric into 3 inch strips. Then I ironed it into bias tape. I put the fabric over the vinyl and then sewed it on.
I then sewed the three pockets onto one of the chevron fabric. Because it is tricky to sew the vinyl (it sticks when you sew it), I used the paper that came with it and sewed it onto the vinyl and fabric too. Then I just pulled it off.
I sewed all three pockets on and then I separated them by sewing them down the vinyl. The top one is separated into 4 inch sections, the middle on is 6 inches and the bottom is 8 inches.
Once all the pockets were on, I put the other piece of chevron fabric onto the it and then sewed the three sides (not the top). I first hemmed the top of each piece of the fabrics.
For some more structure, I put them a piece of foam board into it.
I then sewed the top together. I put a hanger in and sewed it a more.
And that’s it!! I filled it with her fun accessories and hang it onto the her dress up station.
