We are HUGE fans of cereal in our house. The amount of cereal we go through in a week is crazy. I #LoveMyCereal so much that I could have it for any meal of the day. If I don’t have cereal in the morning for breakfast, I usually have some kind of cereal for lunch. One of our favorite brands of cereal is Quaker®, we love it! I thought that it would be fun to make a fun treat with one of my favorite cereals- Quaker® Life cereal. I made it for a treat for my kids but I also thought that it would be a fun treat for a neighbor or friend. Something that you could give any time of the year, not just during the holidays. I made up a fun printable to go with it.
I headed to Walmart and got several of the Quaker® cereals. I found them in the cereal and breakfast aisle. I also found the rest of the ingredients at Walmart, I found those mostly in the baking aisle.
Here are the cereals I got, these will #QuakerUp our pantry :). I love them as cereal but I also love to use the Quaker® Simply Granola on my yogurt, for a little crunch and flavor. I also bought the Quaker® Real Medleys® and Quaker® Oatmeal Squares. They are going to be perfect for breakfast this week!
This is what you’ll need for the Quaker® Life cereal bars:
6 cups Quaker® Life cereal
1 bag mini marshmallows
4 Tbsp butter
3/4 chocolate chunks
1) Melt the butter and marshmallows in the microwave. I put them into the microwave in 30 seconds increments until it was all melted and smooth. I also left a few marshmallows out so I could use it as a topping.
2) Add the Quaker® Life cereal and stir it until the marshmallows are evenly coating the cereal. Then add the chocolate chunks and stir.
3) Place into a casserole dish and let cool for 30 minutes.
While the cereal bars cooled, I made some fun printable to go with them.
I cut out the tags and then put them onto a plate of the cereal bars. What a fun way to tell someone that you appreciate them. These are perfect for friends or even family.
You can even do little individual ones. I think that these would be so fun to give my kids after school as their snack :).
What is your favorite Quaker® cereal? What fun things have you made with it? Let me know in the comments!
