Do you ever do a project just leads to another project and then to another one? That is what happened to me with this project. I painted the shelf and bench in my mud room a dark brown and right after that I thought that it would be great to decorate the shelf. It just looked so bare. Luckily I had all the supplies on hand.
This is how I made it:
I took a straw wreath and yellow felt. I cut the felt into a lot of circles, lots and lots of circles.
Using a glue gun, I glued the circles onto the wreath.
I continued to glue the felt onto the wreath. Then I glued some ribbon onto the wreath, so I could hang it onto the frame.
I then glued the rest of the felt onto the wreath.
To make the frame, I used this tutorial. I cut the wood so the inside measured 18″ for all four pieces.
I stapled the ribbon on the wreath onto the wood frame and let it hang down.
I love how it looks on top of the shelf.

so cute! I've wanted to make one of these felt wreaths for awhile… They turn out so pretty every time!
