How To Microwave Corn on the Cob

June 12, 2014 by Kaysi 1 Comment

I LOVE corn on the cob.  My kids love corn on the cob.  I do NOT love having to shuck the corn husk off.  It’s annoying and takes forever.  And then boiling it takes a good amount of time.  Well a lady in my church told me that you can microwave corn on the cob.  I of course wanted to try it and it is AWESOME!!  Seriously, I’m never going to boil my corn again.  It’s super easy and the best part, the husk of the corn just FALLS OFF!

The corn still tastes amazing too!  It went perfectly with sloppy joes.  We are going to be having it a lot this summer, I already know it.

This is how you do it:
You take two ears of corn, put them on a microwavable plate and heat them up for 6 minutes.  If you just do one ear of corn, put it in for 3.5-4 minutes.

Let them set in the microwave for 2-3 minutes and then you just cut off the ends of them.  If they are a warm, just grab a oven mitt and hold onto them with that.

Then the husk just comes right off.  It doesn’t time much effort at all.  No little hairs everywhere.

And that’s it!  You have cooked corn on the cob!

The husk came off so easily that I was able to do it one handed while filming a video of it.  Seriously awesome.
