Happy Sunday/Monday everyone! I hope that everyone had a great New Year!
My parents were in town this week, so I decided to take the week off from blogging. It was nice to just hang out with them without worrying about writing up posts for the week.
I just wanted to take a minute and get a little personal. You see, I’m 5 1/2 months pregnant with my 5th child. I just had an ultrasound on Friday. Two things were determined (well actually a month ago), they were just confirmed yesterday.
We are having another boy. I should be excited, but I’m not entirely. I have three boys and one girl, so I was really hoping for our last child to be a girl. It’s hit me pretty hard and I’m having a hard time with it (like getting depressed).

Next is that I have placenta previa. If you don’t know what that is, it means the placenta is covering the birth canal. It has been moved in the past 4 weeks, but it’s still low and not completely out of the way, so I get to have another ultrasound in 2 weeks.

With this alone, it’s been making life harder than usual. Then the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere and getting use to country life has been hard. I’m just going to be real, I’m struggling with my life. I haven’t been happy for awhile.
One thing that makes me happy is this blog, it gives me something to do and look forward to. But lately I haven’t gotten really any kind of positive feedback. You all know that since Pinterest, commenting has been going down. Bloggers live off of comments, it is what keeps me going and makes me want to share my ideas. I had a post a couple weeks ago get pinned 1000 times, but with only two comments. So if you like one of my projects (or really any bloggers), I would love it if you took an extra minute to tell me, it really helps a lot!
Sorry to bore you with my drama, so let’s get onto the features from last week. Thanks for everyone use linked up!

Thanks for hosting! Congratulations on the pregnancy. I hope it all goes smoothly even with your condition. Sorry you're going through a rough time right now. I'm sure all the pregnancy hormones don't help. Hope things get a little easier for you. Hang in there!
Prayers for you Kaysi. I hope things get brighter for you soon. Depression is not fun especially during these dreary days of winter. I do appreciate you hosting each week. I get so much inspiration and {wink} motivation from everyone that links up!
Thanks for hosting and congrats on your little one. We live in the middle of nowhere in Washington…although I always feel a little bad calling it that because even though I'm 45 minutes from where I do most of my shopping and 1 1/2 hours from the closest Costco or Jo-Anns we're really surrounded by some of the best neighbors anyone could ask for. It was a tough adjustment at times, and I still hate having to go so far for shopping, but I love it here now. Hang in there. And I definitely know what you mean about fewer comments. I get way more blog traffic now than I did a couple years ago, but less comments…and more of the comments that are left don't have an email to reply back to.
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time with this pregnancy. I know my last child was such a blessing and you do enjoy everything so much because you know it's possibly the last time. Keep your chin up, virtual hug, and good luck at your next Ultrasound. I agree about the lack of comments! I could use a few on my blog too!
Thanks for hosting Kaysi! Hang in there, I hope things get better for you!
I love your blog Kaysi and I hope you start feeling better soon!! Hugs and prayers that your pregnancy will go well:)
Thank you for featuring my Playmat! Thanks for hosting too π
So sorry to hear of such a hard pregnancy π I hope the blogging community continues to be a bright spot in your day for you! xoxo Claire
Hi Kaysi, I link up every week but I'm not sure if I've ever left a comment. (Sorry!) And sorry to hear about the difficulties in your pregnancy…. I hope you have good news at your next ultrasound!!
Thanks so much for hosting! And congratulations on a sweet baby boy! I absolutely love your blog. Every time I see a new post from you, I instantly click on it-most of the time I don't even read the title, haha. I'll be sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way for the duration of your pregnancy!
Thinking of you…sometimes we go through rough patches in life. I am in one myself right now. Hang in there…it will get better :o)
Stacey of Embracing Change
I love your blog. Sorry things have been a little stressful for you, though.
Sorry to hear your blue Kaysi…I also LOVE your blog. I had placenta previa with my first pregnancy. Definitely a bummer. Thoughts and prayers from my little corner, Lindsey
Sorry to hear you are sad. Hopefully you will get used to the country life soon. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, hopefully the placenta will move by the time he is ready!
Thanks so much for hosting Kaysi – pregnancy is so up and down as you know –
Much love,
and Happy New Year!
Hugs,
Suzan
Great Party–and congrats on the boy!
Oh Kaysi I'm so sorry to hear you're in a funk. I totally feel for you. I'll definitely be keeping you in my prayers. I'm not sure if you're much of a reader but sometimes it helps me to escape into another world when things are frustrating/hard/sucky in this one. I know you're in the boonies but libraries have great online resources these days so you can download ebooks or audiobooks. And if you want any recommendations I always love to talk books. Hang in there friend.
17 comments already. :-). I think telling people what you need pays off. It turns blog stalking into a relationship more personal for both parties. Good luck with the baby. Our first was a high risk pregnancy and it was very difficult to deal with. Wishing you the best.
Thanks for being so honest. That must have been really hard. Congratulations on the boy, even if it isn't what you were expecting, we all know he will be fully loved in your home.
I'm so sorry you're struggling. I would feel the same if I were you. Boys and girls are both their own kind of challenge, and I'm glad you've been able to have both in your home. I know that baby is coming to your home for a reason and I know you are the best mama for him. Eat some chocolate and treat yourself well! You are doing such a selfless service bringing a life into the world!
I have always enjoyed following your blog. You are so talented and you have inspired me in many ways. I will keep you in my prayers during this difficult time in your life!
Sorry to hear that you've been down in the dumps π I had a hard time adjusting to being pregnant and then what do you know… you've got you get used to not being pregnant again! Hoping you feel better soon!
Thanks for hosting, and sorry to hear about the difficult time that you are having. I am certain that things will get better. Sending you hugs.
I'd say that you have a little more going on and to be concerned about than the average blogger does. I'm sorry you've not been happy, but it is certainly understandable, given the circumstances and the fact that Christmas with its busyness was just upon us – and it sounds like you already have a busy household. Sadness is a temporary thing. I hope the new year will bring good things for you! Thank you so much for hosting us for Motivate Me Monday!
Kaysi! I'm sorry to hear about you being a little down lately :(! I think that you are an amazing person. I'm thinking and praying for you! Everything will get better I promise. I wish that you were closer to us once again. I know that a boy wasnt what you were expecting, In fact I know exactly how you feel! I felt the same way with my first, I thought he was a girl until I went in for an ultrasound. I was crushed. And I sure love him to pieces and couldnt have it any other way. Loves my friend.
Thanks so much for hosting, what with all the craziness that is going on in your life. It really is super nice of you! I'm sorry about the complications in you're pregnancy though- you'll be in my thoughts and prayers :]
I completely understand! We had 2 bio kids and adopted a sibling group of 3 and it was everything I could do to get out of bed each day. I could never have blogged back then because I needed to be available 24/7 for these kids who needed so much from me. I pray God will bless this pregnancy and you will be filled with joy!

Hey! Thank you for hosting this great party! I am so sorry you are going through such a hard time π I know it's hard to think you are having another boy, I would probably go crazy if I was out numbered by boys. But I hope you just enjoy those tiny moments of (what sounds like) your last pregnancy. Enjoy the movements you feel from the baby, the belly and it all. I know when we came to the decision to not have more children the pregnancy and the little newborn part is what I was really sad to not be able to experience again. No matter what it is such a joy and miracle to be able to grow a baby inside you, think of what you are doing for him and maybe that will bring some light. Take care and I hope you are able to find some joy in this time.
Sending you warm thoughts π

Oh Kaysi! I'm so sorry that you're going through a difficult time. I'm going to keep happy thoughts for you and pray that you get through this quickly. I'm sure it's temporary! Keep hangin' in there, it will get better. Thanks for hosting, and chin up, Buttercup! π
Hello dear Kaysi, going through changes can be quite difficult, especially when you don't really have time to sit with it in peace and accept whatever is happening in your life right now. What always helps me is the conviction that whatever happens is for me, even if it often doesn't look like this at first.
I wish you strength and clarity and lots of sleep. Your blog is beautiful!
Hugs
Jutta
So sorry to hear that you're going through a difficult time (you're one of my favorite bloggers!) Hope to see a post from you very soon saying things are looking up for you.
Thank you so much for hosting!
Wishing you all the possible strength, you will be needing
Try to feel as happy as you can (inside) your baby will feel this too.
All the luck!
Happy Monday! Thank you for the linky! Praying and sending happy thoughts your way! ~ Angie @ The Dating Divas
My last child was a boy (I have two sons and a daughter), and he is the sweetest most loving little boy, who adores his momma and brings such joy to our home. I just know you will adore this little guy of yours! Take one day at a time and take care of yourself, praying for you.
Hang in there! We appreciate you and your party!
I'm so sorry you're not feeling as happy as you can be. I completely understand because I had a little trouble when I found out my baby was a boy. It took me a little while to really get past the idea that he wasn't a girl like I thought, but I love him more than anything now! I do agree with you about pinterest changing blogging too. I feel like it's not the same and people never leave comments like they used to. I hope one day things will go back to normal after the pinterest rage dies down.
i know you know you will love him like your others, but of course it's always a dissappointment when you have another vision in your head. i'm glad you shared your frustrations on here, this should be your space to vent the bad and share the good. thank you for hosting, it's always appreciated. you rock!
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your linky party every week! Hang in there! You will be super busy with a new baby really soon π
I'm so sorry that you're having a hard time! I know it can be a long and lonely time. Both of my pregnancies have been high risk pregnancies complete with months of bedrest, feeding tubes, weekly shots, trips to the ER, etc. I wouldn't trade my kids for anything, but it was a rough time and, frankly, it sucked. So, good for you for admitting that it's not always glowing skin and awesomeness for everyone. I wish you and your baby all the best!! Kate – i heart eating
Kaysi, I'm so sorry your are having a rough time! Once we lived out in the middle of nowhere & I really couldn't take it! It was soooo hard! Hang in there! It does look like a beautiful place where you are living. π Growing up I there were 6 girls & 1 boy in our family. I always thought my brother was so lucky because he always got his own room. π Everything will work out for the best. I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers!
I am in the same boat as you. I am 5 and half months pregnant with my 5th child and I am also having another boy. Making it 4 boys and 1 girl. I understand how you feel, I was a disappointed at first also, but then I praised God for another baby and am looking forward to meeting him. My daughter took it pretty well (she is 7) she really wanted a sister. I will be praying for your pregnancy and your family and of course you.:)
I am so sorry to hear of what you are facing, as if pregnancy is not hard enough. I am keeping you in my prayers and glad that you have found some happiness through your blog. I look forward to your blog and your posts and wish you the best in 2013. Take care of yourself!
Also I love your blog!
Thanks for hosting, Kaysi! My sister had that same frustration, she had 4 boys, then a girl and the last one was a boy! Try not to stress, I know easier said then done, and take care of yourself. You have a great blog and I know the feeling about comments being down. It's the same with my fb. That is depressing, so I will be depressed with you. See you are not alone!
I'm having a GOOGLE + Social hop. I'd love for you to hop on over, grab a button and link up your Google +. If you don't have Google + it's ok, come link up your blog or favorite post.

i linked an amazingly tasty and easy recipe for Chicken and Cheese Lasagna Roll Ups! enjoy
Hey, I'm really sorry about your pregnancy and how hard everything is for you right now. It's totally understandable to feel sad about not having another girl, and that's okay. I'm also sorry about your placenta previa – that's got to be very hard, especially on top of everything. I hope you know that there's a lot of people that care about you.
I read your blog almost daily and I am ashamed to admit that I have never commented. I apologize for this. I love your Monday link up as there are alway some great ideas on there and also I adore your crafty projects! I hope you feel better very soon! Keep up ther good work!
Wow! I feel like we have a lot in common. I know how you feel. I had three boys in a row, then my girl, and then a little boy to finish it up. After having three boys I shouldn't have been so surprised when another little boy came but it was still a shock. I love all 4 of my boys…and I know you do, too…but there's always a bit of sadness that there isn't a sister for my daughter. But she is 4 now and we have lots of fun being "the girls". I also had placenta previa (with my third). It was very scary. Fortunately mine did move by 7 1/2 months. They just kept doing ultrasounds and on my last one it had moved enough. If yours is moving there could be hope! I grew up in Tribune, KS (Scott City Branch). From K-12 grade. We lived out in the country. While I have never raised a family in a remote location, I did see my mother raise her 7 children there. I know now that it was often lonely for her but like someone previously mentioned, what great people live in those remote locations! I wish you the best in everything. Thanks for your wonderful blog! I visit it often!
Thanks for hosting! I know its rough right now, but things will get better!! Keep a smile on your face and hold your head high! You are an awesome gal!

Hi Kaysi! I know how difficult depression is especially when you're pregnant. I'll be praying that the placenta continues to move out of the way. Do you have a name picked out for your baby boy? Do you knit in addition to sewing? You could have such fun knitting little layette outfits or sticking to making lots of booties for him. Just think, by the end of April the snow should be gone, well, let's hope anyway! I live in western PA and it seems like we still get one last snow storm early in May every year. Spring will be underway and that means such beautiful flowers. Everything will green up and by then the only blues you'll be feeling will be little baby clothes! God bless!
Thank you for hosting, Kaysi. Hang tough…life goes up and down, but fortunately (hopefully) the ups are more significant than the downs. Good luck with everything with your sweet little baby boy.

Aww Congratulations on another little boy! You sure are going to have your hands full!
Kaysi,
I am the mother of five, 3 girls and two boys. Landon our last child is now 10. I was 40 when I got pregnant with him, we can't imagine life without him! But it was a difficult pregnancy. Hang in there it does get better! I'll keep you and your sweet little boy in my prayers!

Thanks so much for offering the link up. This is my first visit to your blog. I hope your pregnancy is safe and healthy from here on out. I know that feeling about wanting a little girl so desperately with a house full of boys. We were in your position too about 6 years ago and I even prayed that God would turn my baby boy into a girl while I was pregnant…isn't that horrible and hilarious? π We now have 5 girls and 4 boys…girls are finally winning! Once you see his sweet little face, you will be thrilled that he's exactly who he is.
Blessings,
Mrs. Sarah Coller
Congrats Kaysi!
I agree with comments. I do my best to leave a little love.
I had placenta previa/emergency csec with one of my kiddos. Here to hoping for a healthy baby, boy or girl (; You'll fall in love with him and girls are drama anyway, lol!
Thanks for hosting!
I have been getting your blog through email for about a year now and I enjoy every one of them…I rarely ever comment. I always assumed you ladies were always too busy to really read all the comments, but now I know better! As far as life goes and you being happy keep your head up towards the sunshine =)
I think it was very brave of you to write this post. Everybody in blogland seems to live in "happily ever after fairy tale"…when real life can be hard. I hope your health and the baby's will be ok. I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with your child once you hold it on your arm… It's difficult now because you pictured an other baby in your head… But the real one will erase that picture because he will be awesome!
Hey Kaysi,
I agree with you — comments are great! It makes out posts and links a bit more personal. I've linked up my first post of the yesr, altering an old cutting board into a calendar and note holder. My word for the year is "ASPIRE." At times, life is challenging, but we aspire to be our best. Hang in there!
Kaysi-that's so hard to have so much going on, but to be so far from family π We haven't lived near any family for 3 years so I know what a challenge that can be (but I haven't been pregnant either…and that would make it even harder!) I hope you feel cheered up by all these friendly faces here today, and thanks for hosting!
So sorry about the placenta previa. That can be so tough. Hopefully it will continue to move though and won't be a problem for you anymore. As a pretty new blogger I can totally relate to how the lack of comments feels. I wish I would have let you know before now how much I love your blog and how grateful I am that you host every week. Thank you, thank you!
I just wanted you to know that I really enjoy your blog posts. I just started my own business and I am considering starting a blog myself but with a full time job it seems almost impossible. You are definitely an encouragement. Thank you for sharing not only the happy times but the hard times too. They are the ones that remind us we're all human.
Best wishes to you with everything and keep blogging! It will all get better!!
Hang in there Kaysi and know that God has plans for this child of yours, I love getting your blog updates and can't wait to see your wonderful ideas.
Thanks for the party! I have 5 boys and 1 girl. My girl being second to last, and know how you feel when she didn't get a little sister, but it has been great! And I am so happy that I got at least one girl! Best of luck!
thanks for hosting! congrats on the baby boy:)
Love love love your blog! Sorry I don't comment more, I'm just usually reading your posts on my phone while taking care of the kiddos, not always easy to comment. You're so creative and you've really inspired me to take time for myself and craft. And I'm so sorry you're having a tough time with this pregnancy. I completely understand what you're going through. In times like these we have to lean on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For I know the plans I have for you,β declares the Lord , βplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Kaysi, please don't be discouraged by no comments! As a blog reader, it is very difficult to comment on every blog I read. Especially when I usually read entries on my phone. I am a faithful reader of your blog–thanks for taking time to blog for us! I'll be praying for your pregnancy. I was going to quote Jeremiah 29:11, but Ann right above me just did:-)Keep your chin up!
Kaysi, you have such a great blog! Yours is definitely one of the ones I look to as an example of where I want to be some day. And I bet this last little boy of yours will be amazing! I have two girls and am hoping to get at least one boy! I only have sisters, as does my mom, and mother in law. So boys are hard to come by in my family. And living in the middle of nowhere I'm sure can be rough. But I hope you find joy in your surroundings! I know you probably don't want to hear it, but try counting your blessings! It always makes me feel better.
Well. Those sock monkeys would keep me smiling! I wish I had a fifth of your talent. Now do me a favor please take a deep breath. Get rest. It's not god for you or the baby. If I could've been so lucky blessed as you and the sister 4 bros!! Lucky girl! And will be specially bonded with you. Have fun daily!
I just found your blog and am so glad! I really love it!
Thanks so much for hosting ~ sorry to hear about how you're feeling and what's going on ~ I hope you feel better very, very soon.
Good luck with the birth of your fifth child! Every baby is a blessing and you are so lucky to have boys and a girl, too! I wish you the very best!
Keeping my fingers crossed for an easy and uncomplicated delivery for you. I think your feelings are very understandable but I have a feeling when you see that face, all of those emotions will be taken over by the love you have for him. I hope you have the chance to pamper yourself and do something just for you. I know that can be difficult with children in the house… but you're worth it! Melinda
Hi Kaysi~ I totally understand you! When I found out our third child was going to be be ANOTHER boy I was pretty bummed. But now he is here and he is two years old. I cannot imagine life with out him, he is a troublesome little monkey and I love him so much! I am sure after this little one arrives, you will feel the same. I hope and pray that you will have a safe delivery and can enjoy peace until then! Take care! ~Kelly @ Eyes on the Source
Kaysi,
I am sorry I have been so remiss in commenting lately. Things have been a bit rough here as well, so I have been following along but not taking the time to tell you how much I appreciate your blog and your projects.
I completely understand how you feel about wanting another girl. I think we all get our hearts set on things, but once you hold your little boy in your arms, you will be so happy you won't miss having another girl. You have gone through so much in a short amount of time, plus you have the pregnancy going on and all the hormonal changes. Be kind to yourself, don't judge yourself for your feelings, and if you really feel depressed, talk it over with your doctor and your husband so you can be on the lookout for post partum depression if it should occur.
please know I a, here if you want to talk, vent or just have a shoulder.
Hugs and prayers,
Maureen
Kaysi, I hope you a have wonderful and easy pregnancy. I totally understand your disappointment – after all, we are human. But we all know that when your little boy is born, you'll be thrilled and grateful he is healthy. As far as the countryside goes, I sympathize. I'd go crazy if I wasn't in the city. But having lived in both, I know you end up having to appreciate the goodness the endless farm fields have to offer your little ones. Maybe you can get them to manage a nice little vegetable garden for you, while you kick back, enjoy a chilled glass of Chardonnay, and plan your next visit to the city! Good luck with everything π
Your blog is the one that got me into following crafty blogs!!! I am so addicted, too! I follow several and was just thinking this weekend if Pinterest has slowed down traffic to your link parties. I used to spend every Monday night pouring over your Made by You Monday posts and every Thursday was the Hookin' up with HOH. But I'll be honest, I don't do that like I used to, because of pinterest. I still get your emails, so I'm still seeing YOUR posts (and pinning them myself a lot) but I don't always dig through the links like I used to. I always look at your features from the past week, and I LOVE when you do the features, but I'm guilty of not always pouring over the links. Maybe you could look for lot more affirmation from your pins, and the things that are said there. (Don't know if that would help or not, or even be an easy feat to tackle). I'll sure remember to be better about commenting on posts for EVERYONE that I particularly liked (and probably pinned!). BTW, I have more than 1 friend who had placenta previa and it moved nicely before delivery and there were NO issues at the time of birth! Lots of worrying for nothing (but there was much worrying in the process, none-the-less). Take care and know we still LOVE your blog, even though we've become pinterest addicts too! π
first of all congrats, secondly I will be praying for you. I had a low placenta in the begining of my pregnancy as well and thankfully by the time I hit 17 weeks it moved up just high enough to not cover my cervix but it is what they are calling anterior. For the few weeks before I knew what would happen was the most stressful few weeks ever! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!
Oh I understand that very well. I have 3 boys and a girl too. If I ever have another child I bet it will be a boy too. Big hugs to you and congratulations. Btw I had PP with my 3rd child and it got up when I was 8 month pregnant. Feed up and take it easy
I just realized that you featured my Scrap Fabric Flowers! Thank you so much and thank you for hosting this link party each week! I love all of your ideas! Tara Craftaffection.com
