My First Attempt at Color Blocking

For the first time in my life, I actually know what is happening with the fashion trends and it’s all because of blogs!  I’m seeing all of the different trends, some I like and some I don’t like.  I love color as you know, but at the same time I’m obsessed with matching.  So when I saw the whole color blocking was getting popular and how people would just put random bright colors together, I wasn’t sure what I thought. 

Then one day I went to a store and decided to try on a pair of the bright pair of pants.  I liked how they looked but they didn’t have my size, so I didn’t get any.  Then for some reason I decided to post that on facebook and then I remember that I had a pair of red pants (well two pairs actually) that I could make into shorts.  So about 15 minutes before I had to go somewhere, I decided to make the shorts (I was a little late…). 

And so here is my first attempt at color blocking. 

Here are my pants before:

I just cut them where I wanted them and hemmed them real quick.  They were a little flared, so I took them in about an inch on the seam. 

What do you think?  Did I do okay for my first attempt? Sometimes it’s fun to go out of my comfort zone
