Rosette Lamp

When I was working on my craft room, I felt like the room needed some more light, especially when I’m working down there in the middle of the night (which I do quite frequently, I’m writing this post at 2:56am).  Anyway, I wanted to make it super girly and cute.  So I decided to put fabric rosettes all over it. 

This is how I made it:

I stole this lamp from my daughter.  I bought it for her room a year ago and never really used it.  Plus she’s 2, she doesn’t need the lamp as much as I do.

I spray painted the base grey.

Using a knit fabric, I made a bunch of rosettes.  These took forever and I burnt my finger several times.  I made two different sizes, I measured the strips of fabric to make sure they were the same size.

Then I started gluing the rosettes on.  I should have covered up the green strip before I glued on the flowers….

I covered the whole lamp shade.

And now I have a fun and girly lamp for my computer desk!
