The holidays were a very special time for me growing up. They seemed so magical and I loved everything about them. I especially loved the holiday baking. I could always count on my mom to be in the kitchen making some kind of sweet treat for us and I absolutely loved it. I remember I would sneak into the kitchen and try to grab a cookie or beg to lick a beater or the bowl. Those were the good old days! Now that I am a Mom, I am trying hard to give my kids wonderful memories of the holiday season also. Every year we love to make cookies for Santa together and of course this year isn’t going to be any different. This year we are going to make him these super yummy Christmas cake cookies with M&M’s®. Making cookies for Santa is such a fun activity for us on Christmas Eve that I thought that a Santa’s cookies kit would be a fun neighbor gift idea, so someone else can have a fun time with their family too.
I headed to Walmart to get all the supplies and food. I found the Christmas M&M’s® in the seasonal aisle. And I found the Pillsbury™ baking products on a display in the middle aisle. I found the milk in the back of the store with the dairy products.

This is what I picked up for the cookies-
Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Holiday Cake Mix
Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Holiday Vanilla Frosting
M&M’s® Holiday Milk Chocolate
M&M’s® White Peppermint
M&M’s® Hot ChocolateThere is a coupon for several of the products I bought, so go get them before they are gone.
This is what you’ll need for the Christmas cake cookies:
1 package Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Holiday Cake Mix
1/2 cup M&M’s®
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs
1) Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. I made half of the cookies without the M&M’s® and half with. Roll the dough into a ball and put it onto a greased cookie sheet.

While the cookies baked, I made a fun plate for the cookies.
This is how I made it:
I took a white plate and then some letters I cut out with vinyl.

This is how I made it:
I took a white plate and then some letters I cut out with vinyl.

I placed the vinyl onto the plate and then using oil based paint markers, I made dots all over the outside of the plate.

I switched colors of markers and continued to make dots all over the plate until it was pretty covered (make sure to get dots around the letters). I then took off all the vinyl. Then I baked the paint into the plate (so it will be washed and used over and over again). I put it into a cold oven and turn the oven on to 400 degrees and heated it for 20 minutes.

Once the cookies and plate were done, I couldn’t forget the milk. You can’t have cookies without milk. So I poured some Great Value 2% milk into a cute milk bottle.

And that’s it for the cookies for Santa. They are super easy to make and they are oh so yummy!! I think that Santa is going to be excited to eat them this year!

If you think that Santa would like some frosting on his cookies, then you can totally do that too. The cookies taste great either way. I put the Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Holiday Vanilla Frosting on them using a decorating tip.

And for some added crunch and flavor, I put one some M&M’s®. The M&M’s® Hot Chocolate ones are super good on them!
Like I said before, I thought that this would make a great gift too. So I made up a couple more Santa plates and a fun printable tag to go with it. I even made a recipe card to go with it too to put onto the cake mix. So all you have to do is buy the cake mix, the M&M’s® and make a Santa plate. Then you can print out the printable, put it altogether and you have a super fun and cute neighbor gift idea!
Did you know that families and children in our communities are missing out on the nutrients that are found in milk? Milk is not typically donated to Food Banks and so those people go without it. Well the Great American Milk Drive is here to help. If you make a small donation here, they will donate a gallon of milk. For every two bags of M&M’s® purchased at Walmart, up to a gallon of milk will be donated to the Milk Drive.
