Snowman Candy Bar Neighbor or Teacher Gift with Free Printable

December 13, 2016 by Kaysi 2 Comments

Every year I try to give out neighbor gifts to all the friends that we have.  I usually try to do something simple and fun so I can make several of them.  I had a hard time coming up with something this year.  I finally came up with something and I’m so excited to share it with you.  This snowman candy bar is so fun to make and turned out so cute!  Plus I made a printable for you to make it even easier on you!  These make great teacher gifts too!

Here is a quick video to show the process of how easy these are to make 🙂

This is how I made them:
I took the XL candy bars (it could work for the giant ones too) and then figured out what size I wanted the face to me.  I then cut it out of vinyl with my Silhouette.  I then wrapped a piece of copier paper around the candy bar and put the vinyl onto the paper.
This is the “hard” part that I did so you don’t have to do this step, since I made it a printable.  I’m showing it to you in case you want to make a different face design.
This is what I used to make copies (and the printable).  Once the face was on, I just made a bunch of colored copies of it so I could make several candy bars.
Once all the copies were made, I then cut them down to size.  I cut the paper to be 7 1/2″ tall and about 8-9″ wide.  I then wrapped and taped the paper on the candy bar.  You can get the snowman candy wrapper printable here.
So really, you can start your process from there.  You just have to print off the wrappers :).
Once the face were on, I had to decorate them.  I decided to go with a plaid fleece fabric.  I found a couple of blankets that were $2.50, so I used those.
I cut the fleece for the scarf 20″x 2″.  Then I wrapped it around the candy bar and cut the ends into little strips.
Now for the hat.  I cut the fleece to a piece that was 9″ wide by 5″ tall and then folded it in half and glued it together to make it kinda like a “tube”.
I then put the hat onto the candy bar and glued it down and tied the fleece with baker’s twine.
I then cut the top of it to give it a cuter, more hat like look.  If you can see the green hat, I left the blanket edge on the base of the hat.  After doing that I decided that I really liked it and continued to do it to the rest of the hats.
I wanted to add a cute little tag to the snowmen, so I made this printable.  You can get it here.  All I did was cut it out into a tag shape and then tied it onto the scarf with twine.  I also made a bigger printable if you just want to cut it out and glue it to the back of the candy bar.  I also made some tags that can be used for just one friend and for a teacher.
And that’s it!!  Aren’t they just so much fun!?  I love how they turned out and how they were to make.  You can do it with any kind of candy bar that you want.
Here are the other versions of the tag that I made too.
