When it comes to lunch, sandwiches are the way to go for us. For me and for my kids’ school lunches. They are by far the easiest thing to make and pack. Plus they are amazing! We absolutely love turkey sandwiches at our house. The meat can definitely make or break a sandwich, so I always buy good quality lunch meat. It’s very important to me. So I buy lunch meat like Hillshire Farm Naturals Slow Roasted Turkey Breast. I paired the turkey with some yummy avocado and some other ingredients and made the best turkey avocado sandwich! Every one loved it and asked for more.
I picked up the lunch meat in the deli meat section at Walmart. Hillshire Farms has just came out with a line of lunch meats called Naturals. They have 4 new flavors, Slow Roasted Turkey Breast, Hardwood Smoked Turkey Breast, Honey Roasted Ham, and Black Forest Ham. These meats have all natural ingredients, no artificial ingredients, no preservatives, no colors or nitrates.
Here are the ingredients that I used for the sandwich:
Hillshire Farm Naturals Turkey
Sandwich Bread
Provolone Cheese
Avocado Spread
Tomato
Onion
Cucumber
Mayonnaise
The meat was nice and thick and oh so yummy! 3-4 slices is the perfect amount for the sandwich. It comes in a resealable package so if you don’t have to worry about it drying out.
Seriously it was so good! I loved the taste and I love the idea that what I am making for my family is all natural and a wholesome meal.

That looks really yummy! We have been trying to make changes in our eating habits over the last few years (cutting out HFCS, switching to organic when possible, avoiding food dyes) and meat has been my next hurdle. Researching nitrates and nitrites in meats is terrifying! I am loving that companies like Hillshire Farms are meeting customer demands and making a better quality product at affordable prices. My question is why every product that they make can't be full of wholesome, natural ingredients? We know that they can obviously put out a special line, why not just make all the products this way to begin with?! Oh well! Baby steps! Yummy sandwich!
