5 Tips To Stay Healthy and Meet Your Health Goals #BalanceRewards #CollectiveBias

For the past 1 1/2 years, I have been trying to get healthy.  To get healthy all around, not just for a couple of months and then go back into my old lifestyle.  Well it's been a struggle for me lately.  I was doing really good and then our move to Washington happened.  Although it was a very happy time for me, it was a very busy time for me.  I didn't exercise and I started to eat more and more comfort food.  So I gained 10 pounds.  So my mission to become healthy is in full force again.  I have been doing it for two months now, so I wanted to share with you some of my tips on staying healthy and meeting your health goals

Tip #1- Some kind of tracker.
I think that it's important to document the things that you are doing each day.  To see what you have been doing, to set goals and to see the progress. 
I have already told you about the Walgreens app and how you can put coupons onto it.  Well the app does more than just that.  It has what is called #BalanceRewards for healthy choices and it is where you can put in your activities and then you get points onto your Balance Rewards card.  It's nice to see that you get rewarded for your good health choices.  There are 6 things that you can put in and for 4 of them you get points, sleep and pulse oxygen is just for tracking purposes.  You can also set goals on it and sync it with a device or exercising apps and it will transfer it for you.  Plus you can also enter activities to into it manually.  Over all, it's just a great way to keep track of your health goal and activities and to be rewarded by it too!

  I've been putting in my goals and adding my activities each day.  It's fun to see my points go up every day and to see my progress and hopefully soon that weight number will continue to go down :).  And soon I can use the app for track my weight management.

Tip #2- Stay hydrated.
This is something that I always say to do because it's very important and it's something that I struggle with.  I can do about 4 cups a day.  But when I do the 8 cups of water a day, I feel so much better.  To get me to those 8 cups of water, I add a little bit of flavor in the water.  I got the water and flavor drops (and everything else) at Walgreens.

Tip #3- Protein bar for after workouts.
When I don't have enough protein before or after my workouts, I am completely drained for the rest of the day.  It's just a nice way to get refueled and help my muscles recover.

Tip #4- Exercise regularly
This is one is pretty obvious but it's still hard to do.  Set a goal on your exercising.  3-5 times a week is what I try to do right now.  I think that it's important to do something, even if it's just for 30 minutes and not very intense.

It's amazing how you feel after you get done with a hard workout.  I was pretty happy after I finished a 3.5 mile run in the hot sun.
Tip #5- Sugarfree gum.
I actually really love gum and am amazed by how much it helps me fight my eating urges.  When I'm chewing gum, I'm less likely to go into the pantry and just start snacking.  I'm also doing a sugar fast right now, so when I need something sweet to get the salty taste out of my mouth, I chew gum.
