You’ve probably seen these in various pictures on my blog. There are in my kitchen on a bright yellow wall, and I love how they look.
When I saw this idea, I knew that I wanted to do something like that in there. It was so easy to do and it really makes a statement in my kitchen. My motto for this house has been: Go bold or go home!
This is how I made them:
I took some scrap plywood. I actually got mine in the clearance section, they were $.51 each and I had to buy 2. I cut the pieces into squares, so 21”x21”.
Then I painted the wood green and turquoise.
I cut out the design out of white vinyl. I used 12×24 sheets of white vinyl and cut it on my 12×24 mat.
I put the vinyl onto the plywood.
To put the wood onto the wall, we actually just drilled a hole into the wood and then screwed it directly into the wall (instead of having to use wall mounts). I used some wood filler and then painted over it.
And now I have some bold, bright and big signs for my kitchen!
These are so catchy, very attractive and look quick! You might enjoy my book art tutorial. Keep up the nice work!
I love that you just screwed them to the wall. No risk of them falling on little heads!
Darling. Simple. and oh so customizable! Love it!
Love this! I'd love for you to share this at our blog hop today! http://mothersniche.com/thursday-blog-hop/
