Funny Mens Shirts {Father’s Day Shirts}
Making shirts is one of my favorite things to do for my family. We love graphic tees and shirts with funny sayings on them but somethings we don’t want to pay a ton of money for them. Making shirts is an easy way to get those fun graphic tees without the big price tag. Since Father’s Day is coming up this month, I thought it would be fun to make some funny men’s shirts for my husband to wear. Any of them would make a perfect gift for Father’s Day.
If you want to see the full tutorial on how to make a shirt like these, check out this post right here. I made up the Avengers I love you 3000 shirt and added more details than this post has. Also, here is a quick video to show you the process of how to make them.
For all of these shirts, I used this shirt from Walmart. It’s a nice shirt, light weight and comfy. My husband loves them and they are inexpensive. They have lots of different colors and the heat transfer vinyl works really well with it. I would recommend washing the shirts before putting the vinyl on because the color can bleed into the vinyl. I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut out the designs and then to put on the design, I used this heat press. Make sure when you use the heat transfer vinyl to mirror the image before cutting it out. You can use an iron to do the same thing but you have to make sure you put enough pressure onto the design to make it really adhere to the fibers of the shirt. Each shirt will have two links to the design, the first link is to a Silhouette file and the second link is an SVG cut file.
Now let’s get to the funny men’s shirts that I made for my husband.
With Avengers End Game just coming out, I knew that this Avengers shirt would be perfect for my man. For people how haven’t seen the movie, it’s just something that a little girl says to her dad. That’s all info I am going to give just because I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone. But I thought that it would be a perfect shirt for Father’s Day or really for any Avengers fan. You can get the cut files here:
I also made a design that says we love you 3000, you can get those cut files here:
For this Avengers shirt, I used a stretch heat transfer vinyl in black and white and then the red is an electric red. It’s a really cool color with a shimmer/metallic look to it.
This next shirt is definitely a great shirt for Father’s Day because what Dad doesn’t say silly dad jokes? Seriously, my husband says the cheesiest jokes to my kids and they just roll their eyes are him. I think they secretly love them though. So I had to make him this funny shirt. You can get the cut files here:
For this dad joke loading shirt, I just used a white stretch heat transfer vinyl and put it on an orange shirt.
Both my husband and me went to the University of Wyoming and that’s where we met, so we love our Wyoming cowboys. So this shirt is perfect for him because I think he is the best dad ever and the bucking bronco looks awesome as the A in dad. This idea would work for a number of things, you could put another logo in there instead of the UW logo. The Avenger A would look really cool too :). You can get the cut files here:
Wyoming Cowboys Best Dad • SVG File
Since the colors of the Wyoming Cowboys is brown and yellow, I used those colors. The yellow is in the stretch heat transfer vinyl and the brown is in the EasyWeed heat transfer vinyl.
I made this shirt for my Dad and father in law, it’s awesome and perfect Father’s Day shirt for Grandpas. It’s simple but meaningful, which is what I love about it. You can get the cut file for this shirt here:
Great Dads Get Promoted to Grandpas Silhouette File • SVG Files
For this one I just used a black stretch heat transfer vinyl.
If your Dad or husband loves fishing, this is a great shirt for him! I made this one up so it says “Reel Cool Grandpa” but it would work great for a dad too, it can say “Reel Cool Dad”. I have both words, grandpa and dad in the cut file. You can get this fishing shirt cut file here:
Reel Cool Dad Silhouette File • SVG File
For this one I used Easyweed HTV in colors white, orange soda, yellow and Tiffany blue.
I was a chemistry major in college, so anything that involves jokes or puns about the periodic table, I love them!! This shirt is so funny but it’s also clever, so it takes a minute to get it. Those are the kind of jokes that we like in our house, so I had to make this shirt (I made one for myself too). You can get the cut files here:
Ah Element of Surprise • SVG File
For the Ah element of surprise shirt I used the white stretch heat transfer vinyl. I love how it looks on the black shirt. For the darker shirts like this shirt, make sure you wash it before added the vinyl because it can bleed and make the white not so white anymore.
We are huge The Office fans, especially my husband. So any shirt that resembles the Office, we love. This is one of the best quotes from the series. It’s from the episode when Jim comes dressed like Dwight and makes fun of him. Then he just says “Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica”. It’s awesome. You can get the cut files here:
For the Office shirt I just used a black stretch heat transfer.
We are also huge Parks and Recreations fans too. We especially love the character Ben Wyatt because my husband is an accountant and a nerd like Ben :). He was actually on a ultimate frisbee team and the team name was the Cones of Dunshire, so this is the shirt he wears for the games. That’s what is nice about these shirts, they are light enough to exercise in! You can get the cut files here:
For the Cones of Dunshire shirt I used the stretch heat transfer vinyl in gold, red, and yellow. I used the EasyWeed heat transfer vinyl in green and sky blue.
About 5 years ago I made this barbecue shirt for my husband. It’s one of his favorite shirts, but it’s getting wore down so I made him another one. I still think it’s great and funny!
For the I turn grills on shirt, I just used the stretch heat transfer vinyl in black. Very simple but I love how it looks on the aqua shirt.
Both my husband and I grew up in the 90’s, back when there was VHS tapes and cassette tapes and floppy discs. Now that they are gone, it’s time to remember them ;). This never forget shirt is a great way to remember, LOL. You can get the cut files here:
For the never forget shirt, I used black heat transfer vinyl.
One day I saw someone with this saying on it and I knew that I needed to make it. Who doesn’t love settling arguments with a good game of rock, paper scissors? You can get the cut files here:
Rock Paper Scissors • SVG File
For the rock, paper, scissors shirt I just used a white stretch heat transfer vinyl.
Since the Avengers shirt turned out so awesome, I made one more. This Fathor shirt is epic, I love how it turned out. You can get the cut file here:
For the Fathor shirt, I used the EasyWeed heat transfer in the colors white, red, gray, royal blue and chocolate.
Make sure to check out all the other shirts that I have made!
