A lot of you know that at the beginning of the summer, my family moved from Nebraska to Washington. We found our dream home here and for the past three months I have been spending any minute that I have decorating it. I have had so much fun! One main thing that I have had to do is keep it in a budget. The house that we bought was in the top of our price range, so it didn’t leave a ton of money for me to be able to decorate it. I had to get creative. The majority of the house came from what we had already had, things that I had made and things that I had found a garage sales. Over all I just love my house and I’m so excited to share it with you! Eventually I will go through each room and show you all the details of it.
If you want to see what it looked like before we moved in, here is the before pictures.
So now it’s time to do the home tour. We will start with the outside.
Here is my front door. I just use some vinyl for the hello. and made a cute wreath for it.
Here is our grand entry way, it’s about 17 feet high. This is what you see when you walk into our house.
To the left of the front door is my craft room. I love this room and everything it in, like the little curtains for the bookshelves.
Here is the other side. I made curtains for the glass doors so when it’s messy in there I can just shut the doors and curtains. I also love my glittery k and light fixture plate on my MiniBox.
Right next to my craft room is a 3/4 bathroom. I haven’t done anything to it yet :).
I found this awesome table for my entry table at a garage sale. It’s perfect for our shoes and other things. I decorated it with a few things, including this circle wreath with the frame.
Next is our formal living room. It is supposed to be a formal dining room (with carpet, yeah right). We switched out the chandelier and used most of the things that I already had. I did redo the accent chair.
On the other side of the wall is all the places that we have lived and this framed map.
Here is the other side of our entry way and the gallery wall of our old family pictures.
Next is our family room.
This couch was our one big splurge 🙂
Here is our kitchen and dining area.
I love our kitchen. I have some big plans for this kitchen, just haven’t gotten to them yet. I do love my subway art over the pantry door.
Here is our dining area. We changed out the chandelier and added the framed mirror.
As you go up the stairs there is a little nook that was some wasted space, so I added a cute cabinet that I found at a garage sale and painted and a few other things that I found from garage sales.
This is our loft. It has been tricky trying to find seating that isn’t too big since the wall goes over to our entry way (it’s a good 12 foot drop) and I don’t want my kids to be able to just be able to climb over it. So I had to make a bean bag and find little chairs.
Here is another space that was just wasted space, so I found a big cabinet at a thrift store and painted it teal. We don’t have any linen closets, so this cabinet will be for that.
Next is our master bedroom. I love the master suite, its nice and big!
Here is our master bathroom. I haven’t done anything to it yet, but I will.
Across the master suite is my three boys’ room. This is a huge room and the boys just love their Minecraft room. I have had fun making them things for this room, like the minecraft foam tools and the large wood Minecraft characters.
Here is the other view with the Minecraft dresser and the melty beads.
Down on the other side of the upstairs is my baby’s room. I haven’t quite gotten to that one, but when I do it’s going to be trains and super cute!
In between the two kids’ rooms is the kids’ bathroom.
And lastly is my little girl’s room. I have a lot of fun decorating her room! I love the glittery butterflies and dresser.
I painted a old bookshelf purple and made the frame for the T.
I added this cute little painting on the other side.
Her closet is huge, so I turned half of it into a play kitchen. I even made some placemats for her table and a little chandelier. And no kitchen is complete without a fun fabric curtain and window. She loves playing in it and I love that all of her toys and contained in her closet :).
Well that is my house in a nutshell. I still have things to do in it and when I completely finish a room, I will share it with you!
so so cute!! Looks like a great place to raise a family. I love all the color you have added with the decor… just lovely!!
I love everything about it! Especially that you kept all the walls neutral but added plenty of pop with accessories. I'm definitely going to need to shop at yard sales more after seeing all the cute things you did. Where did you get the grey blanket at the foot of your bed… I love it!
I got the blanket from target. And thank you!!

Congrats on your home Kaysi and you've done a great job decorating for less!
You have done such a fantastic job! I love all the details. I had to laugh when you talked about your carpeted dining room. Ours is carpeted and we have complained about it since day one. We're hoping to rip it out next year. You should be really proud of what you've accomplished!!
Thank you for allowing me to visit your home today. You should be proud of the work you have done. My grandsons would love that Minecraft room. They told me today that they wanted one. I'll have to show them your pictures tomorrow.
Your house is so cute! I love that front door mat – where's it from? 🙂
So cute! I love how there's so much color, and each room has it's own personality. You inspire me to finish up some of the plans I've had…for 5 years here 🙂
This is just too cute! Your personality shines through in all of your decor — adorable.
I love this. So awesome how you made each piece it's own. I'm loving the piano the most!
