Multiple Pumpkin Pillow {Orange, Black and White Pumpkin Pillow}
Oh how I love fall! I especially love pumpkins! I love decorating with pumpkins, they are so easy to just put all over the house and I love how they look. I’m all for simple and easy decorating! I wanted to make a very simple pumpkin pillow, so I thought that putting multiple pumpkins on it would make it super cute! I love this turned out and it makes me want to make more!
This is how I made it:
I first started with some canvas fabric and then some stencil vinyl. I cut the canvas to be 18 x 18 inches. Then I cut out the pumpkin design with my Silhouette CAMEO. You can get the cut file here:
I then weeded the vinyl, but instead of weeding the excess, I took out the pumpkins leaving a stencil. Then I put transfer tape onto the vinyl (not very well though, LOL).
I then put the vinyl onto the canvas and removed the transfer tape.
Using a stencil foam brush, I then painted the pumpkins orange.
Once they were dry, I then removed the vinyl.
I wanted one pumpkin to be different, so I went with a buffalo plaid heat transfer vinyl for it. You could easily do it a different way, you could make the pumpkin a darker orange or maybe a glitter orange. Or if you want to make it more like a Halloween pillow, the different one could be a jack o’lantern. That’s the joy of making it, you can make it however you want to :).
I then pressed the heat transfer vinyl onto the pillow using a heat press. You can also use an iron to do this.
Now for the back of the pillow. I cut out 2 pieces of buffalo plaid fabric, each of them 18 inches by 12 inches. Then I hemmed one side of them.
I laid the pieces onto the front of the pillow, with right sides together and then sewed all 4 sides.
I flipped the pillow cover right side out. And then I put a pillow in it.
And that’s it! I love how it turned it! It’s so much fun!
I really like how the paint and heat transfer vinyl look together.
I made this pillow again, but this time I made it double sided. One side has the orange and then black and white plaid pumpkin and then the other side has a jack o’lantern out of glitter HTV.
