Red Buffalo Plaid Christmas Tree Farm Pillow
Buffalo Plaid is really trendy right now and especially the red buffalo plaid for Christmas time! I know it’s hard to think about Christmas right now, but before we know it, it is going to be here and it’s never too early to start planning for the season! I love decorating with pillows for the holiday, it’s one of the easiest things to create and then store for each holiday. I love the look of the Christmas truck with trees, so I made up this fun Christmas tree farm pillow with the truck being in a red buffalo plaid vinyl. I love how it turned out and can’t wait to show you how I made it!
Here is a video to show you the process of how I made it :).
This is how I made the Christmas tree farm pillow.
I started with a blank canvas pillow case. Then I used smooth heat transfer vinyl in black and white, glitter heat transfer vinyl in a dark green and red buffalo plaid heat transfer vinyl.
Using my Silhouette CAMEO, I cut out the design. When you cut out heat transfer you have to have the shiny side (the plastic side) on the mat and then mirror the image before cutting. Here is the cut file for this pillow (it is already mirrored)
The first thing I did (you’ll see this in the video) is arrange the different pieces onto the pillow cover and once I had them in place, took them off and started ironing it onto the pillow. Since there are several layers, you’ll have to put them on one or two at a time.
Once you put one layer, you take off the plastic and then put on another layer and iron it on. Once I put on the words, I put on the truck and then used some multi use paper and put it on top of the design, you can’t iron the heat transfer directly.
Here is a picture just to show you how the layering works.
Here it is all ironed on, I love it!
I put a pillow into the pillow cover and that’s it! I love how it turned out!
I made a quick red buffalo plaid pillow to go with it and now it’s all ready for Christmas time!
The buffalo plaid looks so great with the other rustic and wood decor that I have for Christmas!
